Multidecadal variability of the overturning circulation in presence of eddy turbulence.

Movies from a series of idealized geometry experiments with ROMS at various horizontal and vertical resolutions from 85 km 20 layers to 10 km 40 layers: mid-latitude flat-bottom beta-plane Cartesian ocean basin, forced by prescribed surface fluxes of heat varying linearly with latitude, vertical mixing uniform (Kv=10^{-4} m2/s for the reference case), horizontal mixing and diffusivity let to the numerical scheme.
Default movies show annually-averaged Sea Surface Temperature anomalies in the upper 100m (SST100), with an indication of the MOC amplitude. Some animations of temperature anomalies at other depth are shown, labelled as TXXXm (T702m for instance).
